Perminate Link for EveryPlaceISell and the Basic Green Box   EveryPlaceISell and the Basic Green Box

Ecommerce expert Lisa Suttora of WhatDoISell.com sent in this great story about how EveryPlaceISell.com helped her reconnect with a favorite retailer that had closed its brick-and-mortar store and moved online.

There was a cool niche store here in my neighborhood for a couple years called Basic Green Box. They closed last spring and we thought they were moving to a new location, but no one ever really found out where they went. From time to time, their name will come up in conversation and people will say, "I wonder what ever happened to Basic Green Box."

Well the other day I went to AuctionBytes to read the news and the first place I ALWAYS check out is Every Place I Sell. I couldn't believe my eyes! There was the logo I knew so well for Basic Green Box. I quickly clicked on the logo and sure enough, it was the same Basic Green Box store from my neighborhood!

I checked out their store and saw that they have moved their entire business online. Isn't it amazing that after losing track of a fantastic neighborhood store, I found them again on Every Place I Sell?!

It just reinforces what I always tell people - you NEVER know where or how someone will find your store. That's why you should always advertise everywhere you can. And of COURSE you should advertise in EveryPlaceISell.com!!

I immediately contacted a few friends who were equally as excited and I'm sure the ad in EPIS generated new sales for Basic Green Box. It's the 7 degrees of online retail separation.

(Here's the EPIS Basic Green Box listing - happy shopping!)

Perminate Link for Collectibles Expert Barbara Crews Offers Gift Ideas   Collectibles Expert Barbara Crews Offers Gift Ideas

At EveryPlaceISell.com, we love reading about collectibles, and one of our favorite resources is the About.com Guide to Collectibles. Barbara Crews has been About.com's guide for over 10 years, sharing great ideas and advice about collectibles and having lots of fun along the way.

In her latest column, she offers some great gift ideas for collectors. "Still Stumped? Dozens of Gift Ideas!" provides great suggestions, and her "Twenty Gifts for Under $20" section is bound to give you affordable gift ideas that will be appreciated by your family, friends and coworkers.

We liked this suggestion from Barbara: "Vintage Magazines - Birthday Week Issues." How fun to read a magazine from the week & year you were born. It's also fun to find vintage magazines that match people's interests. We suggest you take it one step farther, and look for postcards, old advertisements and other ephemera to tickle a collector's fancy!

Type the word "magazines" into the EPIS search box and you'll find some interesting sellers of vintage magazines and ephemera. Click through to their websites and storefronts and look for ideas, or send them an email asking them if they have what you are looking for.

Perusing EveryPlaceISell.com merchants, we found a seller who makes Tshirts and mousepads from old advertisements. What a unique gift idea for anyone on your list!

Thanks to Barbara Crews (and the EveryPlaceISell.com merchants) for some great gift ideas for collectors!

Perminate Link for PEZ Dispensers Meet Star Trek   PEZ Dispensers Meet Star Trek
By: EveryPlaceISell.com

Collectors can be easy to shop for, as long as you know their area of interest. Here's just one example of an item sure to please the sci-fi aficianado. (And if your collector likes candy, better get 'em two sets - one to display "mint in box," and  another set to play with.)

In advance of the projected release next May of a new Star Trek motion picture, PEZ has issued a Classic Trek gift set of 8 dispensers: Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Chekov, Sulu, Uhura, and the Enterprise. (Jol ylchu! (Klingon) Activate the transport beam!)

No Trekkers to shop for? You may know someone interested in one of these other cross-collectibles: the 3 Decades of Elvis Tin; the Disney Princess Gift Set; the Mickey Mouse 80th Anniversary Tin; and the Hello Kitty Lunch Box Tin.

If, on the other hand, you're shopping for a collector of PEZ, he or she might appreciate the Golden Glow. Released in 2002 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of PEZ, it is still available from the Pez factory store. And if you're really stumped on what to buy, there's always the PEZ gift card, available in any amount!

Looking for other gift-giving ideas for collectors? Check AuctionBytes.com's recent column for collectors.

EveryPlaceISell.com has lots of merchants offering both antiques and collectibles in addition to new and refurbished items. Peruse the category list, click, and start browsing for fun and funky merchants who put the fun back in online shopping!

Perminate Link for Top Ten Reasons to Shop Online   Top Ten Reasons to Shop Online
By: EveryPlaceISell.com
Sun Dec 7 2008 20:28:17
There's nothing like shopping from the comfort of home, and new research proves it! Nielsen-Online conducted a survey to see why shoppers buy online. With the current economic downturn, there is an increased focus on price this year, with 53 percent of respondents citing price as a reason to buy online, compared with 46 percent last year.

But consumers continue to cite convenience more than price as the primary value of the channel, with 76 percent of respondents citing the ability to shop 24 hours a day, and 74 percent citing time-saving for why they shop online.

Nielsen-Online recently fielded the survey from November 6-11 among approximately 1,300 online shoppers who did online holiday shopping last year and/or plan to do so this year. The survey revealed that consumers will continue to shift their purchases online for convenience, time saving and competitive pricing this holiday season.

EveryPlaceISell.com has lots of merchants you won't find "at the mall," selling new or handmade, refurbished or high-end. Just pick a category and start persusing, and you'll be filling your virtual shopping cart with unique presents and stocking-stuffers in no time. (And think of the gasoline you'll save!)

Perminate Link for Holiday Shopping: The Cookie Jar versus the Wii   Holiday Shopping: The Cookie Jar versus the Wii
By: EveryPlaceISell.com
Fri Dec 5 2008 22:25:35
The Nintendo Wii has been topping the lists of most-searched-for products on eBay, Amazon.com and comparison-shopping engines in November. But holiday shopping is not just about electronics and game consoles.

TIAS.com, a popular online antique and collectible mall featured in EveryPlaceISell.com, released its monthly "Hot List" of Antiques & Collectibles. The TIAS "Hot List" has been published monthly since 2002 and are based on hundreds of thousands of searches. Here's the list for the month of November 2008.

  1. Cookie Jar
  2. Hutschenreuther
  3. Limoges
  4. Westmoreland
  5. Ironstone
  6. Figurines
  7. Roseville
  8. Fenton
  9. Bakelite
  10. Lamps
Keep in mind that these searches are what people were looking for, not necessarily what they were buying. In many cases, people will search for items when they are just trying to determine a value of a specific item that they have in their possession.

So how does the Wii stack up against the Cookie Jar on EveryPlaceISell.com? You can find 15 merchant listings when you search for "wii" (many merchants are selling games for the popular Nintendo system), and you can find 9 merchant listings when you search for "cookie jar."

Whatever you're shopping for, good luck, and be sure to come back for more shopping standoffs!
