What is Twitter?
Twitter is a free social messaging utility for staying connected in real-time. It's a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (known as tweets).

You can join Twitter and start sending messages to anyone who "follows"you. The more people you follow, the more people who will likely follow you.

What is Tweet Deals on EPIS?
Each day, we pick one interesting "tweet" from an EPIS merchant and advertise it on EveryPlaceISell.com (EPIS) as a way to highlight the great merchants in this directory.

How Does Tweet Deals work?

Place a listing for your online business in the EveryPlaceISell.com merchant directory. (It's free! Learn about EveryPlaceISell.com here.)
Register for Twitter.
Follow EveryPlaceISell - when signed in to Twitter, visit http://twitter.com/EveryPlaceISell and click on the "Follow" button.
Send EveryPlaceISell a tweet advertising your promotion. Here's how to format it:

@EveryPlaceISell [your message here] URL

The URL must link back to your directory listing on EveryPlaceISell.com. Use tinyURL ( http://tinyurl.com ) to shorten the link.

NOTE: You only have 140 characters to write your message! So keep it short and sweet.

NOTE:You must link to your actual merchant directory listing on EveryPlaceISell.com. For instance, do a search for JustonceOnline and click on the search result that appears. Here is the link JustonceOnline would use:http://www.everyplaceisell.com/cgi-bin/ep/ep.pl?seller&391&XkXtLrrkLr Go to TinyURL.com and make it a shortcut.

Here's an example of how JustonceOnline would write their tweet on Twitter (and all of their followers would see the message):

What to Remember when tweeting Tweet Deals

Keep the message short (you have only 140 characters)
Make it compelling - think of it as an ad or a coupon, a reason for people to visit you.
Make sure the URL goes directly to your EPIS listing
Make sure your EPIS listing looks good and all the links are working!
Remember to preface your tweet with @EveryPlaceISell so we see it.
Tweet a deal no more than once a day, and publish other interesting Tweets to keep people following you

Some common mistakes people make when tweeting Tweet Deals

Forgetting to start the tweet with @EveryPlaceISell
Sending a direct "message" to EveryPlaceISell instead of posting a tweet
Putting a link to your store instead of to your EveryPlaceISell listing page
Linking to the search results page instead of the actual EPIS listing page

Use a shortcut service like TinyURL http://www.tinyurl.com to create the link to your EveryPlaceISell listing.

Remember to Tweet once a day to be considered for exposure on the Tweet Deals banner!

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tweet does not show up on the EPIS Twitter page where the other ads are with RT in front of it. What did I do wrong or neglect to do?
We choose only one Tweet per day to display on the feed and our site. Your EPIS promotional message on Twitter won't show until we select it. You must tweet once a day to be considered for exposure on the Tweet Deals banner.

What's the benefit of Twitter and Tweet Deals?

Exposure on Twitter (your own feed)
When you send a tweet advertising a promotion and linking to your EPIS merchant listing, everyone who "follows" you on Twitter will see it.(That's also why it's important not to spam Twitter - other Twitter users will find it annoying and will "unfollow" you. We recommend tweeting EPIS deals once a day!)

Exposure on EveryPlaceISell.com
Your tweet might get picked up on EveryPlaceISell.com's Tweet Deals on EPIS.Once a day, that tweet will appear in a banner ad on EveryPlaceISell.com. Note that we may rotate the banner with other ads or move the placement to various spots on the site.

Exposure on Twitter (on the EveryPlaceISell feed)
Once we pick a tweet to feature on EPIS, we will "ReTweet" that tweet on our feed. That means your tweet might be seen by all of the people who follow EveryPlaceISell on Twitter
